As a young boy, 13-year-old Robin, begins fighting an internal battle with himself and “others”.  Many voices are bombarding him; Satan, his minions, and “Hugh”.
Religion plays a very important part in his family’s lives. His parents try ignoring his new odd behaviours, then scolding, eventually, much to their embarrassment, they bring Robin to the hospital as his physical and mental and behavioural systems escalate.  At his point he is introduced to a very kind and understanding psychiatrist.

During his assessment, Robin explains that he often speaks out loud as Satan and his minions are relentless in taking over his concentration in his mind.  He justifies his physical idiosyncrasies to maintain God’s powers to complete his mission.

“Descent into Chaos: A Memoir”, by Robin Cunningham, is a narrative book.  Upon speaking with the author with respect to the extreme clarity of those six months of chaos and the recollection 50 years later, he responded, “the terror was so great and my mental faculties so sensitized, they were burned in my memory."

Robin Cunningham is hoping his second book, of his series of five, “Out of Chaos”, will be published by the end of 2018.

Although I was quickly drawn in to the story with the author’s obvious struggles, I eventually lost interest with the said/they said throughout its entirety and lack of a “cliff-hanger” leading up to his next book.
